Story: “This was taken on my first trip to Canyonlands National Park. I was amazed by the silent, serene beauty of the place. I especially found it interesting to observe that the sun strikes the arch at a different point, depending on the time of the year; this photo was taken in mid-April. If I were to revisit in a couple of months, it would be an almost different image.”

Subject: Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees in Full Flower

Story: “I was wandering in the groves of cherry blossom trees near the Tidal Basin when I looked up and saw the branches of a flowering tree framing the bare, twisted trunk of another tree in the background. I liked the contrast and used a wide angle setting to frame the image and a polarizer to saturate the colors.”

Story: “While I was kayaking in Florida Bay, I noticed this osprey splashing around for a long time. As I got closer, I noticed he was standing in very shallow water and just giving himself a bath. He didn’t seem too concerned about me and I was able to get this shot. It was the first time I have seen this.”
