Below is a image submitted by Sandra Bartocha taken at a beach near Kuhlungsborn, Germany. In the image, the seaweed along the beach had been draped in ice crystals and she used an in-camera double exposure to combine an image with shadow and one with evening light.

Editor Review:
“As many of us are faced with the chilling temperatures of winter, I thought it appropriate to include this creative perspective that combines artistic composition with the use of computer technology. I like the shapes, color tones and the blending of sharp and soft features within the frame. Often nature’s beauty can be found in the smallest of details from the most unusual places.” — Steve Freligh
