- Notes from the field: “I knelt down across from the rock and braced myself since I was tripodless and tried to get some shots of the birds taking off from the rock. I was shooting at ISO 400 and using a shutter of 1/2500 and I have many blurred frames and frames with half a bird exiting frame!”— Trish Carney
Editor Review:
“What a contrast from the last shot we selected. This image brings dramatic action to the frame while offering several focal points. I have seen numerous shots of robins, but none as compelling as this photo. I like the variety of positions and the sharp focus on the birds near the rock. I also enjoy the soft focus on the bird in the background. The lighting is perfect. Nice work, Trish, your persistence DID pay off!” — Steve Freligh
