- Notes from the field: “An unearthly landscape, the likes of which are not to be found anywhere else on this planet. These spectacular landforms are actually petrified sand dunes which have been sculpted by wind, water and rain and richly colored by the iron oxides and other minerals so ubiquitous throughout the southwest. Scanned from Fuji Velvia / enhancement by Mother Nature.”

Editor Review:
“The composition consists of several well distributed layers, each interesting in its own right. The lighting is great and I love the contrast between the deep blue sky and the bright terrain. Because the color of the skyline is so rich, I would like the frame to be moved up a bit to include a little more of the sky and to even out the overall composition. This provides a unique perspective of an equally unique landscape. Well done!” — Steve Freligh
