- Notes From the Field: “I setup a feeding and water station in the back yard next to my shed. It includes four feeders and a birdbath. I use a variety of seeds for the feeders. Most birds favor the Sunflower seeds. However, a variety of seeds will draw in many different species. This allows me to take full advantage of the bird situation I have right in my own backyard.” — Robert Strickland
Editor’s Review:
“The cardinal is one of my many favorites in the bird world. I like the contrast between the male and female plumage and I like that you can see them at most feeders and bird baths. What attracted me to this familiar scene was the sharpness of focus on the water soaked feathers. The blend of colors from rich red to gray to black with a nice warm green background also sets it apart from your average bird bathing photo.” — Steve Freligh
