- Notes From the Field: “This Chestnut-mandibled Toucan was in Costa Rica’s La Paz Waterfall Gardens in very heavy shade but I dialed the shutter speed down to 1/60 and hoped for the best with my 200mm VR lens. The darkened background blurred into the bird’s black feathers and really made his face pop, resulting in one of my favorite compositions of the entire expedition.” — Scott Ableman
Editor’s Review:
“Nature’s design offers spectacular views of familiar subjects. Scott’s ability to make the most of the situation payed off as he presents new and interesting details in this toucan.” — Steve Freligh
