- Notes From the Field: “This image was shot at Nagarahole Wildlife sanctuary belonging to Karnataka state of INDIA. It was during an evening safari on river Kabini which flows through this national park and is the only source of water for wildlife during summer.
- In fact, this area is the backwaters of Kabini river formed due to construction of a dam on the river. Because of this, many acres of forest lands are submerged in water including many tall trees. The tallest amongst them still stand out and one such tree helped me get this shot.
I had to wait for the right time to frame the sun properly against the silhouette of the tree and was able to do it in time before the shaking motor boat moved away from the dead tree.” — Jagadish MN
Editor’s Review:
“Simplicity often creates art. This image captures the scene through the subtle blending of colors and clean design. I especially like how the tree snag wraps around the setting sun. I also like the snags that are silhouetted against the background of the shot.”
