- Notes From the Field: “It was a hot day in Kruger National Park / South Africa, so we decided to have a short rest in one of the camps in the northern area of the park. I was walking around in the camp when I noticed this hornbill on the ground, about 5-6 metres from me. I took the photo with my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III and a 300 mm f2.8 Canon lens (+ a 2x extender). I’m glad that it is relatively sharp, although I did not have my tripod with me.” — Pal Teravagimov
Editor’s Review:
“A striking shot with great detail. I like the focus and the eyes call for a second look. Feathers offer an intense pattern to the overall image.” — Steve Freligh
