Notes From the Field: “All of my recent macro shots have been taken using a Canon EFS60 mm lens and I’ve been very pleased with the results. I enjoy photographing insects and I plant flowers in the spring to attract them. I find particularly with Hoverflies that I can spend a morning in the garden and only get one or two decent shots but it’s that one good shot that makes up for the time spent crawling about on hands and knees trying to get the shot in the first place.” — Tony Mathews
Editor’s Review:
“I like the perspective as I seldom see such an evenly designed macro shot. I enjoy the way the petals of the flower match the angle of the hoverfly’s wings…almost everything is symmetrical and well balanced. The sharpness of focus is on target and the lighting is perfect. Nice shot!”— Tony Mathews
