- Notes From the Field: “SIRI is the second oldest Snow Leopard currently in captivity in Japan. She’s 19 years old, and came to Japan from Banham Zoo (UK) some years ago. She’s an adorable old thing, and as docile as a house cat.
The picture was taken at Tama Zoological Park in Tokyo, Japan, using a Canon EOS-1D Mk111 camera with 300mm f/2.8L lens, perched on a bean-bag. It was a quiet day (rare), and she looked up when I called her name. Lucky timing, I guess. The wire cage does detract a little from the image, but it still remains among my personal favourites.” — Steve Tracy
Editor’s Review:
“Zoo photography continues to impress me. This shot brings an immediate eye to eye connection with this impressive cat. The texture of the hair and sharpness of focus on the head against the soft background makes this an appealing portrait.” — Steve Freligh

Wow! I would have never guessed this was a photo from a zoo! Beautiful shot. Leopards are amazing animals.
