Title: Making Faces

Subject: Baringo Giraffe

Location: Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Camera: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi; EF 100-400mm ƒ/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens at 400mm; 1/1000 sec at ƒ/5.6; ISO 400.

Story: “This little baby giraffe was certainly not camera shy! He spent several hilarious minutes playing and making faces at me — mostly making me wish I had a video camera on me instead of just a still camera. The cloud to the silver lining is that he didn’t survive the year. Of course, that’s one nice thing about photography — now he gets to be eternally young and cute.”

The image appears on our website from Tuesday, June 18, until Monday, June 24, 2013. No use without permission of photographer © Laura Johnson.
